Experience

Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of serving in a wide range of professional roles in the fire service including: Firefighter/Paramedic, Engineer, Engine Captain, Truck Captain, Training Captain, and Acting Battalion Chief. I’ve been honored to participate in several specialized teams, including Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), Terrorism Liaison Operations (TLO), Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and special projects such as fire station construction. Each of these experiences has deepened my understanding of leadership, crisis management, and the importance of teamwork in achieving common goals.

In addition to my operational experience, I’ve had the opportunity to teach at a local junior college, mentoring the next generation of Firefighters and Paramedics. This work has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career—helping to ensure that future responders are equipped, confident, and prepared to meet the evolving demands of the profession.

I’m also a small business owner, and that experience has further shaped how I approach leadership, budgeting, and decision-making. Running a business requires strategic planning, fiscal discipline, and the ability to balance competing priorities. I understand the importance of delivering value, being accountable to stakeholders, and navigating complex challenges with transparency and foresight.

As I step into this next chapter, I am driven by a continued desire to serve—this time through public office. I believe my extensive background in high-pressure environments, my firsthand understanding of the needs of first responders and the community, and my business-minded approach to problem-solving will allow me to contribute meaningfully to the future of Gig Harbor Fire and Medic One.
